Not
strictly a doss band, they were the main source of equipment and musicians
for the Pagans. Kips joined them in 1983 after
they dropped the name "SAS". Priapus was an accidental name,
being the first word Wevz's sister pointed at when opening a dictionary
at random, but it was quite apt for a metal band. Being second generation
NWOBHM, their material was somewhere between Iron Maiden and Yes! The
lads stretched their musical abilities as much as their stripey trousers,
both probably beyond their limits. Five Slawit boys having a good time!
It proved to be good musical training ground, as well as a source of amusement
for the discerning sophisticates amongst the local youth!
