LAFFMAD

Laffmad formed in winter 1990 out of the Menkle Skeletons, who acquired a new bass player, Ken, and forged a heavier sound. Energetic, complex, beautiful and quirky Jazz-punk songs from John + Tom were complemented by brilliant drumming from Matt (who went on to study Jazz in Leeds). Did a few gigs around Huddersfield (mainly benefits). Constantly bogged down, the band eventually split in Autumn '91 when Matt & Ken left for college. Practiced and recorded at the infamous "Norman Aldous Baggins" Studios in Milnsbridge, which was co-created by Spiney, Tim and Shades. This was definately more that just bedroom music, but despite their frustrations they definately had a doss.
