HODGIE

The other half of Giblets & Cheese, a nice lad with a psychotic alter ego, Hodgie's insane humour contributed some of the craziest moments in doss band history. Like Foggy he also did some stuff on his own (!) under the influence of Kraftwerk and an album of the Queen's speeches (or perhaps in an attempt to tame the maniac invoked by tooting on the duck-bong), Hodgie's music is more controlled and methodical, though it remains quirky.

Utilizing his logical skills learned through a childhood of Spectrums, Atari's and pulling apart every electronic component he could get his hands on, Hodgie spent hours making simply intricate tracks which culminated in the compilation "Homemade Hardcore". While trying to teach himself music in the process, he was often found at parties explaining that everything was produced by time and the ear (a symptom of not learning to play instrument properly, but computers are here now so what?). The music drives along like the soundtrack to a robot workshop filmed using sepia filters and soft focus. This definately has a feel-good quality. The aural equivalent of pastel colours. Indeed Hodgie went on to study multi-diciplinary computer applications then buggered off to London. Now, he can be currently found developing the design for the BBC's News website. (Oh No! Not another Website!)
